Finance Department

The Finance Department manages the fiscal resources of the school department, developing and administering the annual operating and capital budgets in coordination with the Superintendent, the School Committee, and the City. Its responsibilities include accounting and general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll administration, purchasing and procurement, grants management and federal program reporting, and the annual audit. Finance also tracks state aid and school construction reimbursements, monitors expenditures against approved appropriations, and produces the financial reporting that supports transparent decision-making by the School Committee and the public.
